MUSEUM NEWS
- February 17th-20th: Can You Survive Cretaceous Alaska? What would you do if you found yourself in the middle of a Cretaceous landscape when dinosaurs were at their peak? Explore the Museum answering interesting survival questions along the way. In the end, you’ll see if you have what it takes to survive or if you would have been T-Rex’s snack!
- Staff - Two staff members of the Museum, Bronwyn Jones and Kerri Jackson, have been selected to participate in the 21st Century Learning in Natural History Settings conference presented by the National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian supported by the National Science Foundation. The conference is being held in February in Washington, DC. This fantastic opportunity will help guide the Museum’s educational programs and exhibits well into the future.
- Outreach - The Museum is on the move with its new outreach program! Have the Museum come to you with fun interactive presentations on Alaska’s Dinosaurs and Mammoths. Learn more about the Museum's Outreach Program.
- Preschool Tinker Time - What topic will your pre-schooler learn about this month? *Note: Tinker Time is now only on Mondays.

The play areas in the museum are Cloroxed and
Lysoled daily, and Lysol wipes are available throughout the museum. Still
worried? Hand sanitizer is also available.

WHALING IN THE MUSEUM
Museum volunteer and medical professional Dr. Cindy Shrayer and her husband David have diligently, if not frustratingly, worked for months on a partial skeleton the museum received in boxes last Summer. Now complete and suspended beautifully in the museum, we’ll give you the story behind the scenes.
