Oil-company geologists discovered trackways of two different theropods in 1975 near Black Lake on the Alaska Peninsula. Theropods are generally slender, long-legged, bipedal animals with blade-like teeth and curved, sharp sickle-shaped claws. Also called the meat-eating dinosaurs, their largest members include the tyrannosaurs.
