| In 1922, Jack Mason
found the two ends of a single leg bone near Puale
Bay. They were later submitted to W.R. Smith of
the USGS. The bones failed to attract attention
at the time and eventually became forgotten storage.
Recently rediscovered this marine reptile that
was identified as a large short-necked plesiosaur
with extremely large jaws. Individuals may have
reached lengths of up to 50 feet. (Age: Kimmeridgian) |
