The Museum is a proud participant in the 2015 Anchorage Promise Kids Day, to be held on Saturday, April 18. Children under the age of 17 will not have to pay an admission fee to enter the Museum during our operating hours of 10 AM to 5 PM. For more information, check out our Kids Day info page.
Do you have a passion for dinosaurs, gems and minerals, and hands-on science fun? Love working with people in an informal educational setting? If so, then volunteering at the Museum may be right for you! We are currently seeking docents with a passion for and knowledge of Alaskan history, geography, geology, and paleontology to lead exhibit tours and answer questions from Museum visitors. The Dinosaurs at the museum have been hiding their eggs in the strangest places. Can you help us find them? Hop through the Museum and participate in a Puffin Egg Roll, Dino Egg Hunt, Penguin Egg Walk and more. Drop in. $7/adult, $5/seniors and military, $4/children
Our new pterosaur is here!!! Come see our 26 foot pterosaur sculpture, a James Havens creation! And while you're here, check out the newest dinosaur painting from James Havens, the Pachyrhinosaurus Perotorum, Alaska’s very own horned dinosaur, while it is being housed at the museum.
Preschool Tinker Time runs every Monday morning from 10:00 am to 12:00pm.
